What Are You Wearing Wednesday: Issue I All American

***UPDATE*** Congratulations to Carla Bennett, she is the winner of our Kohl's gift card! Thank you to everyone who supported this newest endeavor! I'm so excited to start blogging more about the things I love! And, in other exciting news! Kohl's is giving all ink readers 10% off their order now through Sept 12th! Just use the code BLOGIT10, and, "it can be used to stack savings with one other department specific code." Thank you Kohl's!!!

I've wanted to do a fashion inspired column for some time, and, it finally hit me one night. I'd just like to talk/blog about things that inspire me (and you) fashion wise. I'm by no means a fashionista, just a girl who likes to have fun when I get dressed in the morning, or afternoon, whatever the case may be! I consider my style to be eclectic, yet simple, and I always like my outfit to say something. I look to Pinterest for inspiration, and you can find my favorite fashion board here. Since it's July and all, I thought the first ever What Are You Wearing Wednesday should be Fourth of July inspired, and I even created a very special board for inspiration!

This MaryAnn inspired outfit was put together by things I already had in my closet (although I've never worn them together before :)! The blue polka dot shorts (it's hard to tell in the pic) & red gingham shirt scream All American Girl!!! It would be so fun to wear to a picnic, a family gathering, or to go watch fireworks!

Shoes: Gray Converse, Polka dot Shorts: American Rag @ Macy's, Top: Gingham blouse/white tank (I don't remember, probably Kohl's), Necklace & earrings: Custom made by Sandra Alstrom.

Stars, Stripes, and Sequins! This next outfit is a little more chic, I think, but could still totally be worn to just hang out! I love it, and, it's actually what I'm wearing tomorrow! I totally like to plan ahead for special occasions and events (like parties and holidays)! It's just plain fun! You can see it with the shoes here!

Shoes: Silver/Sparkly Tom's, Pants: Lauren Conrad @ Kohl's, Top: Blue/White striped top from Macy's, Necklace: a gift from Lindsey.

The girl next door gets dressed up! I found this lacy cream dress when I was browsing through Kohl's! I loved and had to have it! In fact, I plan to wear it to my birthday dinner next week! I love the lace and the belt that cinches at the waist (I plan to do an entire post on this soon!!!). I thought how cute would it be with a shoe that pops?!?! And, what better for the fourth than a cute red pump?!?!

Shoes: Jessica Simpson @ DSW, Dress: Sonoma @ Kohl's, Necklace: Kohl's.

Don't forget to accessorize! A cute jean jacket, red white & blue scarfs, and my favorite accessory of all jewelry! You can see last years here! My husband teased that the last two outfits weren't as patriotic. I just reminded him that  they're Fourth of July inspired...they don't have to be red/white/blue. They should be things you could get away with wearing almost any other day of the year too! And, he gets a big hug for being my photographer, and being (mostly) patient with me.

I hope you enjoyed the very first What Are You Wearing Wednesday?!?! I hope it inspired you to put together a cute patriotic outfit for the Fourth no matter what you're doing! I would absolutely love to get your feedback and interaction on What Are You Wearing Wednesday! I'm hoping it could be more like a conversation and even get some ideas on future topics. If I don't know a thing about it, I'll figure it out for us (wink)!

To help kick off What Are You Wearing I thought we'd do a give-away!!! How about a $50 gift card to Kohl's?! You (anyone who lives anywhere near a Kohl's ;) have until Sunday night to leave me a comment for your chance to win. Let me know what you think of the new column, and/or what inspires you fashion wise! If you too put together a Fourth of July inspired outfit, I'd love to see it! You can leave a link here in the comments, hit me up on twitter, instagram, or facebook (@loricalhoun) for an extra chance to win! Have a happy and safe Fourth everyone!

I don't really have good fashion sense naturally. I have to learn and take advice from other people. so this is great!

I'm inspired by cute unique ideas on a budget.
My Fourth of July outfit this year was different than any before, I wore my swimsuit ALL day. We watched fireworks from the beach at Huntington Pier. My blue and white striped Mossimo Target tankini I bought for $30 was all I needed! Sorry, no pics. :)
