Ahhh...I Can't Believe I'm About to Post These?!?!

I've been dreading it, trying to talk my self out of it even. But, truth be told, I worked really hard to lose that 10.2 lbs. So, here goes, my before and after pictures from the biggest loser contest I participated in.

I'm not sure how much you can tell, really. But, nonetheless, I'm proud of myself. I've been asked a lot "what my secret is?" It's no secret, just really. hard. work. I've lost about another pound since the competition, but this last week I've stayed the same (thankfully) due to some very bad eating/good exercising habits. Today, I've gotten back on track and will mostly try to keep going. My biggest weakness is the winter time (November-Feberuary). That's when I gained those 10 bad boys to begin with. All I want to do is stay inside where it's warm and eat hearty carb filled comfort food. So, I've decided staying trim during the winter is being added to my New Year's resolutions, sans May of course (wink). I've set some goals that will hopefully help. Stuff like a three day hike of the Grand Canyon this fall, and the "Rock N' Roll" half marathon in January. Ooops, did I just say that out loud? Good! You all will help hold me accountable, right?

I know finding motivation to get fit can be difficult, so I thought I'd share a few last things. Weight loss is a very basic process so here's what I do/did.
  • Eat less-I found keeping track of what I eat and my calorie intake was really helpful.
  • Exercise more-I like to keep track of calories burned as well. Putting a number on it is really motivating.
  • Get enough sleep-Yep, the good ol' 6-8 hours. I've found 7 is my perfect number. As long as it's straight through.
I think that's all I've got for now!!! I would love to hear any additional advice you may have for us. Please feel free to leave it in the comments! And, lastly, if you'd like to keep up with my continued progress, you can do so by reading more about myfitnesspal and how to follow me, here.
