To end review week (if you could really call it that after all), I'll give you the gist of my recent trip to Raleigh.
After a quick trip to Charlotte to see Amy & Bryan's new nephew Walker, Amy and I had a wonderful girl's night out. We shopped, stuffed ourselves silly, and then shopped some more. The waitress was kind enough to take a picture of us with Amy's camera.
The next day we took a short trip to Adams' vineyard, just near Amy's house. The owners are descendants of John Quincy Adams and were very sweet.
Despite the look on his face, Chase was excited to pick the grapes. Not convinced? Maybe the juice on his shirt will tell you otherwise.
Later that night, we ventured out and I took the Rudys' family pictures, after which, we enjoyed some delicious pizza at the Mellow Mushroom.
The crust was just heavenly...I wish I had a picture for you.
The next day Amy, Cole, and I went to the Raleigh Farmer's Market. Now, I've been to plenty of Farmers' Markets here in Arizona, and nothing really compares. Just the assortment of deliciousness is enough to make me want to move there. The peaches were to die for, and the tomatoes were so good I could eat them plain, like an apple. My mouth waters just thinking about it. My only regret is that I didn't have my camera. Amy and I also enjoyed a crab cake lunch their at the market, sooo good!
Later that night, we strolled over to Amy's mother's house, where we shared and enjoyed some amazing food, including my first pecan pie, which I had picked up earlier in the day at the market.
After the fire was lit, we all enjoyed a wonderful evening outside by the lake where I was convinced I needed to give fishing a try (another first). Let's just say fishing attempt #1, although be it very funny, was not successful.
Thank you Rudys, I had a really good time!
