Book Report: Eat Pray Love

At dinner with the girls (a month or so ago), I had mentioned how I wanted to read Eat Pray Love. A really smart cookie remembered and got if for me for my birthday (thanks Gingy).

As it goes with all books I love, once I start, I have a hard time putting it down. I used to stay up til the wee hours of the night reading books. But, I've taken a more "balanced" approach (except Sunday, when I spent a few good hours reading). I would take about an hour a day, plus a little extra time, before I went to sleep, to read. This helps me feel like I'm not neglecting my other duties around here. An hour is reasonable, right? Plus, although I'm usually dieing to get to the end, I have a hard time once I'm done. Meaning, I'm usually sad. I hope I'm not the only one who has this turmoil? Believe me, it is kind of dramatic, even if it's just on the inside.

I wanted to share my favorite quote(s) from the book.

"You were given life; it is your duty (and also your entitlement as a human being) to find something beautiful within life, no matter how slight...The magnification of one life- is indeed an act of worth in this world. Even if that life, just this one time, happens to be nobody's but my own." -Elizabeth Gilbert

I can't tell you all the ways this quote touched me. Believe you me, it's a whole nother post in itself. Maybe...Someday....

p.s. The movie comes out August 13th. Girls night, anyone?
