I never was much of a reader. In fact yesterday my husband mentioned (and I don't remember it) when we were first dating I told him I hated to read. But when the twilight books (I know I'm a big dork) came out I fell in love with them. I could barely put them down, and I read them over and over. Now I'm always looking for a good book to read. Usually love stories, although I like to read books about photography and business too. Gosh, now I've really let the cat out of the bag. Super. Big. Dork. What can I say?
I borrowed Gone With The Wind from my sister for are trip. But truth be told there really wasn't much time for reading. However, after we got back, and life got back to normal I couldn't set it down. In fact, I haven't watched any TV in two weeks. Any spare time I had was spent reading. Yesterday I finally finished! I admit there were parts that made me cringe, and Scarlett O'Hara is a spoiled brat! But I fell in love with her, and Rhett. Yes, I am a huge Rhett Butler fan, and was from the first time he was mentioned in the book. That's just how I role. Always rooting for the under dog. Or the tall dark handsome one! Even though the book is fiction I think the author does a great job of painting a picture of what the era really must have been like. I like to imagine myself there. Sitting in a carriage or going to a ball.
In case you haven't read it I just wanted you to know ***SPOILER ALERT*** there you were forewarned. I kept rooting that she would figure out she loved him. I knew she did. But I didn't like the ironic ending. That you only want what you can't have. Or you want it til you got it. Even ol' Rhett. Wanted Scarlett to finally realize she loved him, and when she did it was too little too late. Don't get me started on Melly dieing. I really got choked up and everything. Even though the ending ticked me off a bit I really did love it, and I'm a little sad I'm done. Guess that means I'll have to start another. Oh, and the movie. I can't wait to watch the movie!
